SCHLENK Group trainees organize raffle for a good cause

Proceeds of EUR 3,315.50 benefit children in the region

Nuremberg/Roth-Barnsdorf, 30.01.2023/06.02.2023

At the end of last year, the trainees of the SCHLENK Group started a project on their own initiative to recycle discarded computer hardware. They organized a raffle in which tickets were given away in exchange for donations. The result was employees who were delighted to win one or two PCs, laptops or monitors, and trainees who were happy to receive a donation of EUR 3,315.50. "We never thought we would raise so much money. There were even colleagues who donated without wanting a raffle ticket for it," Luca Dobner and Fabian Schreiber, chemical technician trainees, were enthusiastic.

On 30.01.2023 and 06.02.2023, the donation was handed over in the name of all trainees, by Luca Dobner and Fabian Schreiber, on the one hand to the association for the care of chronically ill children Klabautermann e.V. and on the other hand to the Hospice-Team Nürnberg e.V. (children and youth hospice service). "I think it's great that we had the opportunity to get an insight into the great work of the associations during the donation handovers. It really made me realize once again how well I am doing and that there are many who need our help," said Fabian Schreiber.

"We would like to thank the trainees for their social commitment to the Klabautermann association. Together we are strong," emphasized Hanne Henke, who reported on the work of the Klabautermann association in helping chronically ill children and their families in the Middle Franconia region.

And Mrs. Cornelia Grötsch, coordinator of children and youth hospice work, was also very impressed by the commitment of the trainees and expressed her thanks.
"Through this project, the young people experience the great importance of voluntary work for our society and can also strengthen their sense of self and responsibility. We are very proud of the great commitment and perseverance with which our in-house junior staff have pursued the project," said Dr. Daniela von Schlenk-Barnsdorf.
